Panthers vs Blue Jackets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Blue Jackets -133 Favorites

Florida will try to stay unbeaten following a week hiatus in the opener of a four-game road trip at Columbus. The Panthers won their first two games against the Chicago Blackhawks by a combined score of 10-6 with the OVER cashing twice after delaying the start of the season due to COVID-19. Florida had to pause again due to COVID-19 restrictions with its next opponent, the Carolina Hurricanes. The Blue Jackets have moved on from disgruntled center Pierre-Luc Dubois, trading him to the Winnipeg Jets for Patrik Laine and Columbus native Jack Roslovic.

Flyers vs Devils | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flyers -162 Favorites

Philadelphia will look to end a two-game skid at New Jersey as a road favorite. The Flyers lost their last two games to the Boston Bruins as road underdogs both times, as the OVER also cashed twice to improve to 5-1 for them overall this season. The Devils are coming off a 2-0 win over the New York Islanders as +145 home underdogs on Sunday, with the UNDER cashing for the fourth time in five games. New Jersey goalie Scott Wedgewood (28 save) earned the shutout, and he will likely get the call again with Mackenzie Blackwood on the COVID-19 list.

Penguins vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -143 Favorites

Pittsburgh will attempt to run its winning streak to five games in the first of two road matchups with Boston. The Penguins have won four in a row since an 0-2 start, with the OVER going 5-1. Ironically, their two losses both came against the Philadelphia Flyers, who just dropped two straight to the Bruins. Boston outscored Philadelphia 11-5 in the sweep as the OVER cashed each time after the team dropped its first three by one goal apiece with the UNDER going 3-0. The Bruins have won the past eight home meetings in this series, with the OVER on a 5-2 run.

Islanders vs Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -150 Favorites

A depleted Washington team will go for its second win in five games versus New York and former head coach Barry Trotz. The Capitals are still without captain Alex Ovechkin, center Evgeny Kuznetsov, defenseman Dmitry Orlov and goaltender Ilya Samsonov due to COVID-19 protocols, and winger Tom Wilson is day-to-day with a lower-body injury suffered last week. The Islanders have won five of the past six meetings under Trotz, who led their opponent to the 2017 Stanley Cup.

Rangers vs Sabres | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Sabres -125 Favorites

The other New York team wraps up a four-game road trip in Buffalo after losing three in a row. The Rangers were just swept by the Penguins in a pair of games away from home over the weekend, losing each of them by one goal. The Sabres ended their two-game skid with a 4-3 shootout win over the Capitals as -125 home favorites on Sunday, with the OVER cashing for the third time in their last four games. Buffalo has lost seven of the past nine meetings.

Blackhawks vs Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -188 Favorites

Chicago brings a two-game winning streak into Nashville following a weekend sweep of Detroit. While beating the Red Wings is not overly impressive, the Blackhawks did cover the puckline twice as well in outscoring them by a 10-3 margin. Chicago also saw goaltender Kevin Lankinen (2-0-1, 2.63 goals-against average) earn the first two wins of his career. The Predators have lost three straight overall heading into this one, but they have won four of the past six meetings.

Oilers vs Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -120 Favorites

Edmonton closes out a two-game set at Winnipeg after a thrilling finish on Sunday. The Oilers saw Leon Draisaitl score the game-winning goal with only one second remaining in regulation for a 4-3 victory as they cashed as -140 road favorites. The Jets were playing a little short-handed after acquiring Dubois from the Blue Jackets for Laine, and they hope to have him in the lineup soon. Despite that loss, Winnipeg has still won seven of the past 10 meetings.

Blues vs Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -143 Favorites

Vegas and star defenseman Alex Pietrangelo will host his former team St. Louis in the first of two games. Pietrangelo is the former captain of the Blues and won a Stanley Cup with them in 2019 before signing a massive contract with the Golden Knights, who have won five of their first six games to sit alone atop the West Division. St. Louis is three points behind Vegas in the standings after alternating wins and losses in each of its first six games. The Golden Knights have won the past three meetings after losing four in a row, with the OVER on a 4-0 series run.
