Penguins vs Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -110 Odds

New York will attempt to salvage a split of a two-game home series with Pittsburgh here. The Rangers fell 5-4 to the Penguins in overtime on Saturday as -105 underdogs, and then they waived defenseman Tony DeAngelo on Sunday after reports surfaced of him having an altercation with goalie Alexandar Georgiev. It will be interesting to see if New York plays better now that DeAngelo is away from the team, as he could still be put on the taxi squad if he clears waivers. The Rangers have just two wins this season while their opponent picked up their fifth. Pittsburgh has won the past three meetings and six of eight in the series going back to 2019.

Predators vs Lightning | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -175 Favorites

Tampa Bay hopes to stay perfect at home by completing a two-game sweep of Nashville in this spot. The Lightning edged the Predators 4-3 on Saturday as -190 home favorites, improving to 3-0 at Amalie Arena, thanks to four second-period goals. Nashville had won its previous two games and scored the only goals in the first and third periods at Tampa Bay. The Predators have now lost the past two meetings with the Lightning since a four-game series winning streak. The OVER cashed on Saturday too, ending a 5-0 UNDER run in the series dating back to 2018.

Bruins vs Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -143 Favorites

Washington will try to extend its winning streak to four and sweep Boston in this two-game set after pulling out a 4-3 overtime victory as a +120 home underdog on Saturday. Five of the first nine games for the Capitals this year have been decided in extra time, with them winning two of them, including the latest meeting with the Bruins. In fact, all three of the team’s losses so far have happened after regulation, and captain Alex Ovechkin scored the game-winner to help Washington avoid a fourth against Boston in his first game back from quarantine. The OVER is also on a 6-1 run for the Capitals, who have won four of the past five meetings and 18 of 20.

Canucks vs Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Candiens -162 Favorites

Montreal will look to bounce back from its first regulation loss of the season on Monday in the first of two home games versus Vancouver. The Canadiens fell 2-0 to the Calgary Flames on Saturday as -130 home favorites, just their third loss of the year overall after dropping two other games in extra time. Meanwhile, the Canucks ride a four-game winning streak into the second game of a six-game road trip following a 4-1 victory against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday as +105 underdogs. Vancouver has lost the past two meetings with Montreal and 10 of the last 12.

Flames vs Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -110 Odds

Calgary continues a five-game road trip with the first of three consecutive games at Winnipeg. The Flames are coming off a two-game split against the Canadiens after blanking them 2-0 as +110 underdogs on Saturday. Johnny Gaudreau gave Calgary all the scoring it would need with a power-play goal in the first period at Montreal, and goaltender Jacob Markstrom was outstanding in between the pipes as well with 37 saves. The Jets have lost two of their last three games following a three-game winning streak after falling 4-1 to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday as -125 home favorites. Winnipeg defeated Calgary 4-3 in overtime as a +100 home underdog back on January 14 in their season opener to halt a two-game series skid.
