Bruins vs Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -150 Favorites

Boston will go for its fourth consecutive win and eighth in nine games on Wednesday in the first of two games at Madison Square Garden. The Bruins have not played since last Friday, when they edged the Flyers 2-1 as -145 road favorites, with all of the goals scored in the third period. The total went UNDER for the first time in four games, as Boston’s previous three games all saw seven goals or more scored.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are coming off a 2-0 loss to the Islanders as -115 home favorites on Monday, with the UNDER cashing in their third straight and for the sixth time in seven games. They had won their previous two at home by two goals apiece over the Penguins and Capitals. The Bruins have won the past four meetings in this series, including two at New York, with the UNDER cashing in the last two following a 3-0 OVER run.

Maple Leafs vs Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -145 Favorites

The top two teams in the North Division will battle it out in Montreal when Toronto visits for the first time this season. The Maple Leafs topped the Canadiens 5-4 in overtime in the season opener, avoiding the upset as -145 home favorites. Montreal has lost just three times since then though, with only one of them decided by more than one goal. Toronto has three losses this year overall, with two of the three decided by two goals and the third by one.

The big difference between these two teams early on is the goaltending situation. The Maple Leafs have ridden Frederik Andersen (8-2-1, 2.65 goals-against average) in all but two of their games while the Canadiens have split time between Carey Price (4-1-2, 2.81 GAA) and Jake Allen (4-1, 1.81 GAA) pretty evenly. Montreal had won the previous four meetings prior to that season-opening loss. The OVER is also 6-1 in the past seven games between the teams dating back to February 9, 2019.
