Capitals vs Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -107 Favorites
Washington hopes to bust out of a three-game slump in the first of two games at Pittsburgh. The Capitals have not played since February 7, when they fell 7-4 to the Flyers as +115 home underdogs, with the OVER cashing for the fourth time in their last five games. In fact, the OVER is also 9-3 in Washington’s 12 games overall this year.
Meanwhile, the Penguins will be trying to win consecutive games for the first time since January 24, when they posted the last victory of a season-high four-game winning streak. Pittsburgh is coming off a 4-3 shootout win over the New York Islanders in a pick’em road matchup on Thursday. Much like the Capitals, the Penguins have been involved in a lot of high-scoring games this season, with the OVER currently on a 3-1 run and going 8-4 overall. In addition, the OVER has cashed in each of the past six meetings between the teams dating back to 2019, with Pittsburgh winning four of them.
Avalanche vs Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -138 Favorites
The two preseason favorites to win the West Division will finally square off for the first time this season in the first of four straight meetings between Vegas and Colorado, culminating with the two-game Stadium Series outdoors at Lake Tahoe next weekend. The Golden Knights will be playing in a back-to-back situation following a 3-1 win over the Sharks as -185 road favorites on Saturday. Vegas has won two in a row and nine of 10 when playing the second game of a back-to-back, with the UNDER on a 6-2 run in the last eight.
The Avalanche have not played since February 2 due to COVID-19 protocols, although they have won four of their last five. Colorado has also won four of the past five meetings in this series after losing three of the first four. The OVER is on a 4-0 series run as well since the UNDER went 4-1 in the first five.
