Devils vs Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -189 Favorites

Washington and New Jersey will both be looking to rebound from home losses Saturday in the second game of back-to-back situations for each. The Capitals fell 4-1 to the Rangers as -145 favorites while the Devils lost 3-2 to the Sabres as -135 chalk. Both Washington and New Jersey trailed 3-0 before scoring their first goals in early starts, possibly getting caught overlooking their opponents in the front end of the back-to-back. The Capitals have dropped two of the past three meetings with the Devils following a four-game series winning streak. Washington has also lost three of its last four when playing the second game of a back-to-back compared to New Jersey, which has won three in a row and four of five under the exact same scenario.

Canadiens vs Senators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -225 Favorites

Ottawa hopes to catch Montreal in a potential letdown spot after playing Toronto on Saturday. Despite losing 5-3 to the Maple Leafs as -105 home underdogs, the Canadiens have won four straight when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation and have taken 13 of the past 17 meetings with the Senators, including four of the last five. Bettors should expect a low-scoring affair between these teams, with the UNDER on a 6-0 run in the series dating back to 2019, with exactly three goals scored between them four times. Ottawa has lost two straight games since its lone two-game winning streak, with the UNDER on a 7-2-1 run in the team’s last 10. These teams split two meetings two weeks ago, with the UNDER cashing both times. The Canadiens beat the Senators 2-1 on February 6 in the second game of the home-and-home series as -260 road favorites after losing the first 3-2 as -320 home chalk on February 4.

Flyers vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -200 Favorites

The second game in the NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe series will take place Sunday and pit Philadelphia against Boston. They met a little more than two weeks ago, with the Bruins sweeping two games on the road versus the Flyers by a combined score of 6-4. Boston was favored in both, just like the team was in two home matchups back on January 21 and 23. The Bruins won that pair as well, with the total going OVER each time. Prior to putting together their current four-game series winning streak, they lost five of the previous six meetings. But Boston has lost two in a row overall for the second time this year, with the UNDER on a 4-1 run. Philadelphia has also dropped three of four overall, with the UNDER cashing in two of three.

Jets vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canucks -111 Favorites

Vancouver will try to rebound from a 2-0 home loss to Winnipeg on Friday in the finale of this two-game series. The Canucks closed as -130 favorites in the first game, as they attempted to post back-to-back wins for the first time since January 30. However, it was the Jets that turned in an outstanding defensive performance and won for the 11th time in 12 meetings behind goaltender Laurent Brossoit, who stopped all 29 shots he faced to earn his second career shutout and improve to 3-1-0 with a 2.24 goals-against average. Winnipeg’s usual starting goalie Connor Hellebuyck should be back in net here while Vancouver could go with either Braden Holtby or Thatcher Demko, who made 29 saves like Brossoit in Friday’s game. The UNDER is 5-1-1 in the last seven for the Canucks and 6-1-1 in the past eight for the Jets. The UNDER is on a 5-0 series run as well, also cashing in seven of the previous eight meetings.
