The Hurricanes have won seven games in a row against the Islanders heading into their matchup on Saturday, including a 2-1 victory as -180 home favorites on the NHL betting lines in the most recent game between the teams on January 19. That was an easy UNDER result on the betting totals, stopping a run of three straight OVER results between the two teams.

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -130 Favorites
The Capitals have managed to earn just two victories over their past six games against the Penguins dating back to October 2018, but Washington did get past Pittsburgh 5-3 as -135 home favorites when the teams last met on February 23. The OVER has paid off in each of the last three games between the teams and in six of their last 10 matchups since May 2018.

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -150 Favorites
The Predators shut out the Stars 2-0 at -110 on the NHL moneyline at sportsbooks when the teams just met on Thursday night, putting an end to Nashville’s five-game losing streak in matchups against Dallas. Overall the Predators are just 4-6 in their last 10 games against the Stars dating back to February 2019, with the OVER/UNDER going 4-4-2 over that stretch.

Opening NHL Odds: Flyers -220 Favorites
The Sabres have had very limited success against the Flyers over the past several seasons, winning just three of their last 10 meetings dating back to October 2016. Buffalo rides a three-game losing streak against Philadelphia into Saturday, most recently falling 6-1 as +120 road underdogs to the Flyers on December 19. The OVER has paid off in four straight meetings.

Opening NHL Odds: Panthers -140 Favorites
The Canadiens blanked the Panthers 4-0 as -120 home favorites at sportsbooks when the teams last met on February 1, improving Montreal to 4-2 in the last six games between the teams dating back to December 2018. The UNDER paid off in that February matchup after the OVER had been the correct wager in four of the previous five games between the teams.

Opening NHL Odds: Rangers -210 Favorites
The Devils have only picked up two wins in their last seven games against the rival Rangers dating back to January 2019, with New York doubling up on New Jersey by a score of 6-3 when the teams last met on January 9. The OVER paid off in that January matchup, and the OVER/UNDER is now 8-1-1 in the last 10 games between the teams since December 2017.

The Blue Jackets have lost three games in a row against the Oilers and four of their five most recent matchups heading into Saturday’s contest, with Edmonton cruising past Columbus 4-1 as +130 road underdogs when the teams last met on October 30. Overall the Blue Jackets and Oilers have split their last 10 matchups at five wins apiece dating back to March 2015.
