Capitals at Sabres | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -165 Favorites
The Capitals are trying to fend off the Philadelphia Flyers for the lead in the Metropolitan Division and will attempt to avoid looking past the Sabres in this spot. Washington and Philadelphia are tied for first place in the division with identical 41-20-7 marks, as the latter has put together a season-high nine-game winning streak. The Capitals routed the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 on Saturday as +110 road favorites after losing three of their previous four games while the OVER has continued on a 4-0 run and also cashed in six of seven. Buffalo hopes to end a six-game skid back at home after dropping five of those on the road. The Sabres have been much better at home at 19-11-4 compared to a 10-20-4 road record.
Coyotes at Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Jets -130 Favorites
A huge game with playoff implications in the Western Conference will take place in Winnipeg when the Jets host the Coyotes. Winnipeg is currently tied for the second Wild Card spot in the West with 76 points while Arizona is two back with 74. The Jets have won three of their last four games with the UNDER on a 4-0 run too thanks to a 4-0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday as +110 home underdogs. Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck posted his league-leading sixth shutout in the victory with 29 saves. The Coyotes had also won three of four before falling 3-2 to the Calgary Flames on Friday as +125 road underdogs. Arizona wraps up a three-game road trip here and has lost five of its last six away from home.
Panthers at Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Blues -182 Favorites
The Blues will host the Panthers on Monday in a matchup that was moved up one day to help them with their travel schedule as they prepare for a make-up game with the Ducks on Wednesday in Anaheim. St. Louis will be playing on back-to-back nights though after blanking the Chicago Blackhawks 2-0 on Sunday as a -140 road favorite, with backup goaltender Jake Allen making 29 saves to earn his second shutout of the season. The Blues have now won nine of their last 10 games, and they have also won seven of the past nine times they have played the second game of a back-to-back situation. Meanwhile, Florida ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday as a -150 home favorite, with the UNDER on a 4-0 run. The Panthers play four of their next five games away from home and own a 17-12-4 road record.
Golden Knights at Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -120 Favorites
A massive showdown between the top two teams in the Pacific Division will happen in Edmonton when the Oilers host the Golden Knights. Edmonton has won four of five since getting blanked 3-0 at Vegas on February 26 as a +180 road underdog in the second game of a back-to-back situation. The Golden Knights will be playing the second game of a back-to-back after beating the Calgary Flames 5-3 on Sunday in a pick’em road matchup, but they have won six in a row and eight of nine this season overall under this scenario. Vegas is expected to go back to regular starting goalie Marc-Andre Fleury here despite Robin Lehner improving to 3-0 with the team at Calgary. Fleury earned a shutout against the Oilers in the last meeting though with 29 saves during the team’s eight-game winning streak. Edmonton has lost three of the past four meetings in this series after winning four of the first six.
Avalanche at Kings | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -150 Favorites
The Avalanche end a three-game road trip at Staples Center versus the Kings. Colorado has split the first two games, losing the first one 6-3 as a -120 favorite against the Vancouver Canucks on Friday before winning the second 4-3 at the San Jose Sharks as -170 chalk on Sunday. The Avalanche will also be playing on back-to-back nights and have won three straight in that situation. However, Los Angeles will not be another easy opponent after going a perfect 5-0 since the NHL trade deadline, outscoring its opponents by a 16-6 margin. The UNDER is 4-1 in those five games as well, and four of the wins have come as underdogs.
