Hurricanes vs Lightning | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -131 Favorites
Two of the top teams in the Central Division will duel once again when Carolina visits Tampa Bay in the first of two games. The Hurricanes and Lightning have split six meetings so far this season, and they are currently separated by only two points in the standings. The Lightning have alternated wins and losses in their last four games while Carolina has won two in a row. The UNDER is also on a 3-0 run for the Hurricanes overall, also cashing in six of eight.
Blue Jackets vs Panthers | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Panthers -205 Favorites
Florida opens an important four-game homestand with the first of two versus Columbus. The Panthers trail the Hurricanes by one point for the lead in the Central, and they host them next after these two games against the Blue Jackets, who are riding a five-game losing streak, with the OVER on a 5-0-1 run in their last six as well. The UNDER is 4-1 in the past five games overall for Florida, which has won five of the six meetings between the teams so far this year.
Red Wings vs Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Stars -210 Favorites
Detroit will try to bounce back from its first loss in four games when the team visits Dallas in the opener of a four-game home-and-home series. The Red Wings are coming off a 4-0 loss to the Blackhawks as +120 home underdogs Saturday, with the UNDER continuing on a 3-0 run. Meanwhile, the Stars just completed a two-game sweep of the Blue Jackets by a combined score of 9-2. Dallas is still in the mix for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central but will likely need to finish the season strong considering the competition with Chicago and Nashville.
Blackhawks vs Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Predators -148 Favorites
Speaking of Chicago and Nashville, they will square off for the first of three consecutive meetings here at Bridgestone Arena before heading to the United Center for the last two. The Blackhawks are two points behind the Predators for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central with one game in hand, and they have lost all five previous meetings this season, with the UNDER also going 5-0. Nashville was just swept in two games at Carolina by a combined score of 7-2, with the UNDER cashing both times, while Chicago has won three of its last four.
Wild vs Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Wild -145 Favorites
Minnesota will look to extend its three-game winning streak in the opener of a four-game road trip at Arizona. The Wild are coming off a two-game sweep of the Sharks, outscoring them 8-4 as big home favorites each time. They also began their winning streak with a 5-2 victory last Wednesday as -200 chalk against the Coyotes, who finally ended their five-game skid on Saturday. Arizona upset St. Louis 3-2 as a +125 home underdog to start a three-game homestand after trailing 2-0. Minnesota has won five of the first six meetings this year.
Senators vs Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Flames -210 Favorites
Calgary starts a four-game homestand by hosting Ottawa before Montreal comes to town. The Flames just split a pair of games versus the Canadiens on the road, with the UNDER on a 4-0 run, and they will host the Habs for three more following this matchup with the Senators. Coincidentally, Ottawa is coming off a 4-0 victory at Montreal as a +180 road underdog on Saturday, the team’s second win in three games after losing four in a row. The UNDER is also on a 4-1-1 run in the last six games for the Senators, who have won five of the seven meetings.
Canadiens vs Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -116 Favorites
Montreal embarks on a five-game road trip starting with the first of two at Edmonton. The Canadiens have alternated losses and wins in their last five games, with the UNDER going 4-0-1 during that stretch. However, they have won four of the five meetings this season with the Oilers, who have won three of their last four games overall. Edmonton just ended a five-game road trip at 3-1-1, with the first loss coming in overtime 3-2 at Montreal on April 5. The UNDER is also on a remarkable 8-0 run for the Oilers after blanking the Jets 3-0 on Saturday.
Sharks vs Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -214 Favorites
Vegas hopes to win a season-high seventh straight game in the first of two against San Jose. The Golden Knights just completed a perfect 4-0 road trip through Southern California, and they now return home riding a six-game winning streak. The Sharks have lost all five previous meetings in this series this year, and they have also dropped five in a row overall. San Jose winger Patrick Marleau is expected to break Gordie Howe’s NHL record for most games played.
