Capitals vs Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -115 Favorites

First place in the East Division will be on the line Thursday when Washington visits New York for the first of three consecutive meetings. The Capitals and Islanders are tied atop the East with 62 points, and the latter will try to take advantage of playing the next two at home before playing the finale of the series on the road. New York has won its last two games by a combined score of 7-1, with the UNDER on a 7-1-1 run. Washington has dropped two of three but has won three of the five meetings in 2021, with the OVER cashing in the team’s past seven overall.

Hurricanes vs Panthers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -105 Odds

The top two teams in the Central Division will also square off for first place as Carolina heads to Miami to battle Florida in the first of two games. The Hurricanes and Panthers are tied for first in the Central, but the former has won five of the six meetings between them this year. Carolina is coming off a two-game split with Tampa Bay, winning the finale 4-1 as a +100 road underdog on Tuesday, with the UNDER cashing for the fifth straight time. Florida just swept Columbus in a pair of games, with the OVER on a 3-0 run overall following a 4-0 UNDER run.

Blue Jackets vs Lightning | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -270 Favorites

Columbus will try to snap a season-high seven-game losing streak in the first of two games at Tampa Bay. The Blue Jackets were just swept in two games by the Panthers, but they have split six meetings with the Lightning this season, including the two played at Amalie Arena. Tampa Bay has surprisingly lost five of its last nine games, with the UNDER on a 3-1 run. The defending Stanley Cup champions have given up four goals or more in each loss during that stretch while scoring exactly three times in their last three wins, with the UNDER going 3-0.

Devils vs Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -270 Favorites

Pittsburgh will continue this three-game home series with New Jersey after nearly blowing a massive lead in the opener. The Penguins held on for a 7-6 victory against the Devils as -260 home favorites after going up 6-0 at the end of the second period. New Jersey lost its seventh game in a row, with the OVER on a 3-0 run. Three of those losses have been to Pittsburgh.

Flyers vs Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Rangers -141 Favorites

Philadelphia will look to turn things around in the first of two games at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Flyers have virtually no shot at a playoff spot in the East Division, sitting 11 points behind the fourth-place Bruins, while the Rangers are five points ahead of them as well. Philadelphia has dropped two straight, four of five and six of eight to fall out of contention. New York is still in the mix though despite seeing its four-game winning streak end on Tuesday. The OVER is on a 3-0 run for the Rangers, who have split six meetings with the Flyers.

Maple Leafs vs Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -138 Favorites

Toronto rides a season-high five-game losing streak into this matchup at Winnipeg. The Maple Leafs have won four of the seven meetings with the Jets this year, with the UNDER going 2-0 in the two played at Bell MTS Place. Toronto opened a five-game road trip with two losses at Vancouver and also fell to Winnipeg at home 5-2 before that as a -145 favorite. The Jets were blanked 3-0 by the Oilers as -120 home chalk Saturday to end their two-game winning streak.

Stars vs Red Wings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Stars -208 Favorites

Dallas hopes to extend its winning streak to a season-high five games in the third of four consecutive games versus Detroit. The Stars won the first two at home by a combined score of 8-4 and now hit the road for the last two in this four-game set. The Red Wings are riding a three-game skid since putting together a three-game winning streak, and they have also lost five of the six meetings in this series so far. Dallas last won four in a row to start the year.

Senators vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canucks -153 Favorites

Vancouver will attempt to stay perfect since its pause due to COVID-19 protocols when the team hosts Ottawa in the first of four straight meetings. The Canucks are coming off a two-game sweep of the Maple Leafs as +320 and +260 home underdogs Sunday and Tuesday, respectively, after not playing for nearly a month. The Senators have lost all five meetings in this series to date, with the UNDER cashing in the last four, but have won two in a row overall.
