Flyers vs Rangers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Rangers -147 Favorites

New York hopes to end a two-game skid in the finale of a two-game home series versus Philadelphia. The Rangers fell 3-2 to the Flyers as -170 favorites in the opener on Thursday, getting outscored 2-1 in the decisive third period. Neither team can afford to lose at all down the stretch in order to stay in the playoff race, as they are both chasing Boston for the fourth and final playoff spot in the East Division. New York is eight points behind in fifth place while Philadelphia is 11 back in sixth. The Flyers had lost two in a row, four of five and six of eight, but they have won four of the seven meetings with the Rangers this season after that victory.

Bruins vs Sabres | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -293 Favorites

Boston will go for a three-game sweep of Buffalo and look to extend its season-high winning streak to seven in the series finale on Friday. The Bruins routed the Sabres 5-1 as -320 road favorites on Thursday to win their sixth straight game, and they have won two in a row when playing the second game of a back-to-back after losing four consecutive times in that situation. Buffalo has lost the last three times in the second game of a back-to-back and gone 1-5 in the past six under the scenario. The Sabres have also lost two straight and three of four overall.

Predators vs Blackhawks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -119 Favorites

Chicago got a much-needed win over Nashville on Wednesday and will go for the two-game home sweep here. The Blackhawks rallied back from a 4-1 deficit in the third period to stun the Predators 5-4 in overtime as +110 underdogs, picking up their first victory in seven meetings this season. Chicago trails Nashville by three points in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division with one game in hand, so this game is critical to the team’s chances of making the postseason. With the OT loss, the Predators fell to 11-12-2 on the road in 2021.

Wild vs Kings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Wild -163 Favorites

Minnesota brings a five-game winning streak to Los Angeles for the third game of a four-game road trip. The Wild are coming off a two-game sweep of the Coyotes, covering the puckline both times as they outscored them by a 9-3 margin. In fact, three of Minnesota’s five wins during its streak have come versus Arizona, with the team also sweeping San Jose in a two-game home set during that stretch. The Kings are in the middle of a season-high seven-game homestand, and they have dropped two of the first three, with both losses coming against the Golden Knights. Los Angeles topped Anaheim 4-1 as a -160 favorite on Tuesday, ending the team’s two-game skid and seeing the UNDER cash for the first time in its last seven games.

Canadiens vs Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -118 Favorites

Montreal begins a key three-game road series with Calgary to wrap up a five-game trip. The Canadiens are coming off a two-game road split against the Oilers after beating them 4-3 as +125 underdogs on Wednesday. Montreal had lost two games in a row and three of four prior to that victory, with the OVER cashing for the first time in seven games. Meanwhile, the Flames have lost two straight games following a three-game winning streak, including a 4-1 defeat in the last meeting between the teams as +140 road underdogs on April 14. The UNDER is on a 4-0-1 run for Calgary in the team’s last five games. Despite losing the most recent meeting, the Flames have won four of six in the season series, with the UNDER 5-0-1.
