Penguins vs Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Capitals -106 Favorites

The winner of this game will take sole possession of first place in the East Division, as Pittsburgh closes out a two-game road series at Washington. The Penguins beat the Capitals 5-4 in overtime as -115 favorites in the opener on Thursday, with the OVER cashing to end a 3-0-1 UNDER run for the visitors. Washington still picked up a key point though by extending the game to OT and also has a game in hand, making this an even more important matchup.

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -265 Favorites

Colorado halted a season-high three-game losing streak in the first of four consecutive games versus San Jose and welcomed back goalie Philipp Grubauer in the process. The Avalanche blanked the Sharks 3-0 as -330 home favorites on Friday behind 21 saves from Grubauer in his first action since April 12 due to COVID-19 protocols. Colorado wingers Mikko Rantanen and Joonas Donskoi also returned, and they combined for one goal and three assists. The Sharks lost for the fourth time in five meetings and fell for the ninth time in 11 games overall.

Blues vs Wild | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Wild -143 Favorites

Minnesota will try to avoid being swept in three games at home by St. Louis in the series finale. The Wild have dropped each of the first two meetings to the Blues by one goal, with the OVER cashing both times. The OVER has also cashed in four straight for Minnesota along with six of seven. St. Louis has won four in a row since a three-game skid, with the OVER on a 3-1 run.

Stars vs Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Predators -109 Favorites

The battle for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division will continue here when Nashville hosts Dallas. The Predators are two points ahead of the Stars, who have one game in hand and an NHL-high 12 overtime losses. However, Dallas has dropped its last two games in regulation after winning six of seven. Nashville has won two of three after losing three of four.

Panthers vs Blackhawks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Panthers -149 Favorites

Chicago hopes to earn a split against Florida in the finale of this two-game set and snap a three-game losing streak. The Blackhawks fell 4-3 to the Panthers in overtime as +140 home underdogs on Thursday, with the OVER cashing for the second straight time and fourth in five games. Florida has now won five of the seven meetings this year, with the OVER going 4-2-1.

Flames vs Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -123 Favorites

Calgary is looking for a much-needed sweep of Edmonton in the final regular-season game between the teams this season. The Flames topped the Oilers 3-1 as +105 road underdogs on Thursday, with the UNDER cashing in their second straight game. Calgary has won three of its last four games and six of nine to stay alive in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot in the East Division. Edmonton is still second in the East despite the loss and had won six of eight.

Kings vs Ducks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Kings -128 Favorites

Anaheim will attempt to earn a split in this four-game home-and-home series against Los Angeles. The Kings have won two of the first three games, allowing only one goal in each victory after edging the Ducks 2-1 as -130 home favorites on Thursday, with the total going UNDER for the fourth time in their last four overall and in the past four meetings. Anaheim has dropped six of seven, with the UNDER on a 3-0 run in its previous three and also cashing in nine of 11.

Golden Knights vs Coyotes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -185 Favorites

Vegas saw its franchise-record 10-game winning streak end Friday at Arizona and will try to rebound in the second game of a back-to-back situation. The Golden Knights opened a four-game road trip with a 3-0 loss to the Coyotes as -230 favorites, with the UNDER cashing for the first time in four games. But Vegas has won eight of nine and 15 of 17 in the second game of a back-to-back. Arizona has not won consecutive games since April 5, and the team had lost five of the previous six meetings. The Coyotes had lost four of five and nine of 11 overall too.

Also on today’s NHL schedule: Sabres vs Bruins, Lightning vs Red Wings, Devils vs Flyers, Islanders vs Rangers, Blue Jackets vs Hurricanes, Senators vs Canadiens and Canucks vs Maple Leafs.
