Lightning vs Red Wings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -320 Favorites

After a surprising loss in the opener of this two-game road series at Detroit, Tampa Bay will try to bounce back and stay in contention for the Central Division title in Sunday’s lone NHL game. The defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning fell 1-0 to the Red Wings in a shootout as -280 favorites on Saturday, with the UNDER cashing in their second straight game. Tampa Bay was coming off a 3-0 victory against Dallas as a -170 home favorite in its previous game on Thursday to extend its winning streak to four in a row.

Detroit ended a three-game skid with this win and saw the UNDER cash in its fourth straight as well. The Red Wings have now won three of the seven meetings with the Lightning this season, and the UNDER has cashed in two of the past three games between the teams after the OVER went 3-1 in the first four to start the year. In addition, Tampa Bay has won six of nine when playing the second game of a back-to-back along with nine of 13. Detroit has won two of three and four of seven in the exact same situation.
