Bruins vs Devils | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -196 Favorites
Boston will go for its fifth straight victory in the finale of a two-game road set at New Jersey. The Bruins are coming off a 3-0 win over the Devils on Monday, cashing as -250 favorites, with the UNDER ending a 2-0 OVER run. Boston moved into sole possession of third place in the East Division as well, sitting three points behind both Washington and Pittsburgh. New Jersey had tied a season high prior to that loss with a three-game winning streak, and the UNDER has cashed in its last two now. The Bruins have lost five of seven when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation while the Devils have dropped two in a row under the same scenario.
Blackhawks vs Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -222 Favorites
Carolina hopes to move one step closer to clinching the Central Division title in the second of three home games versus Chicago. The Hurricanes won their fourth straight game on Monday, defeating the Blackhawks for the ninth time in the past 11 meetings 5-2 as -260 favorites in the opener of the series. The OVER also cashed to move to 4-2 in Carolina’s last six games. The Blackhawks saw their losing streak reach a season-high five games in a row, and the OVER cashed for the fourth consecutive time too. Chicago has also lost its last four when playing the second game of a back-to-back while Carolina has won its past four in the same exact situation.
Penguins vs Flyers | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -135 Favorites
Pittsburgh looks to bounce back from a bad loss in the opener of this series when the team faces intrastate rival Philadelphia for the last time this year. The Penguins may have been caught looking past the Flyers coming off a two-game sweep of the Capitals, as they were routed 7-2 as -175 road favorites on Monday. Pittsburgh had won six of seven going into that game and finds itself tied with Washington for the lead in the East Division. Philadelphia ended a three-game skid and will again try to play the role of spoiler here, with the OVER on a 4-1 run in its last five. The Flyers have won four of the previous five times they have played the second game of a back-to-back while the Penguins have dropped four of six in the situation.
Islanders vs Sabres | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -260 Favorites
Buffalo will attempt to pick up where it left off on Monday and sweep New York in the finale of a two-game home set. The Sabres outscored the Islanders 3-0 in the third period en route to a 4-2 upset victory as +215 underdogs, stopping a four-game losing streak. The OVER continued on a 3-0 run for Buffalo as well. New York lost for the first time in three games overall and saw the OVER end a 3-0 UNDER run. The Islanders have lost five of seven when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation while the Sabres have dropped three in a row and five of six.
Oilers vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -188 Favorites
Edmonton will try to beat Vancouver for the second time in as many nights when the two North Division teams continue a four-game home-and-home series. The Oilers defeated the Canucks 5-3 as -210 road favorites in the opener Monday for their fourth victory in five games. Edmonton also saw Connor McDavid hit the 30-goal mark for the fifth consecutive season in the win, and the OVER cashed for the first time in four games. Vancouver has lost its last five games overall now along with four of the first six meetings so far this season, as they still play four more times this year starting with Tuesday’s matchup. To make matters even worse for them, the Canucks have dropped eight straight when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation.
