Devils vs Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -240 Favorites

New York will try to bounce back from a two-game sweep at Buffalo in the opener of a two-game home series against New Jersey. The Islanders were outscored 8-5 by the Sabres with the OVER cashing both times, and they have also lost five of their last seven games to fall into fourth in the East Division with 68 points. Meanwhile, the Devils are coming off a 4-3 upset victory against the Bruins in overtime Tuesday, cashing as +215 home underdogs, and they have won four of their last five. But New Jersey has lost five of the first six meetings.

Rangers vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -185 Favorites

Boston hopes to rebound from a tough loss when the team hosts New York in the first of two games. The Bruins saw their four-game winning streak end with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Devils on Tuesday as -260 road favorites, as they sit four points behind the Capitals and Penguins for first place in the East. The Rangers will finish their season at TD Garden and attempt to end a four-game losing streak. New York was swept in two games by Washington, but the team has won three of four when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation.

Sabres vs Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -355 Favorites

Pittsburgh wraps up the 2021 campaign with a two-game home set versus Buffalo hoping to do just enough to win the East Division title. The Penguins are tied with the Capitals for first place but have played one more game than them heading into this series. Pittsburgh did win the regular-season series with Washington though and has won five of six meetings in this series. The Sabres are coming off a surprising two-game sweep of the Islanders, outscoring them 8-5 and cashing as +200 home underdogs or higher in both with the OVER going 2-0.

Blackhawks vs Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -264 Favorites

With Chicago already eliminated from postseason contention, Carolina will go for a three-game sweep in the team’s home finale. The Hurricanes have outscored the Blackhawks 11-5 in the first two games of this series, covering the puckline easily each time, with the OVER going 2-0. The Central Division leaders are riding a five-game winning streak overall and another victory here would give them 81 points with two games remaining. Chicago has headed in the opposite direction, losing a season-high six games in a row, with the OVER cashing in the last five.

Canadiens vs Maple Leafs | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -177 Favorites

Montreal will also be playing on back-to-back nights and face Toronto in the second of three meetings this week. The Canadiens upset the Maple Leafs 3-2 as +150 road underdogs on Monday before falling 5-1 to the Senators as -145 home favorites on Wednesday to halt their three-game winning streak. Toronto had won five games in a row before losing to Montreal, with the UNDER continuing on a 4-0-1 run in the team’s last five. The Maple Leafs have still won five of the first eight meetings this year despite the loss, with the UNDER on a 3-0-1 series run. The Canadiens have dropped three straight when playing the second game of a back-to-back.

Canucks vs Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -225 Favorites

Edmonton will look to extend its winning streak to four games in the third of four consecutive games against Vancouver. The Oilers swept the Canucks in a two-game road series on Monday and Tuesday, outscoring them 9-4 and covering the puckline each time. Edmonton moved within six points of Toronto for first place in the North Division with one game in hand, and the UNDER has also cashed in four of the team’s last five overall. Vancouver is on a six-game skid and begins a six-game road trip in this spot. The Canucks are 7-13-1 away from home this year.
