Islanders vs Penguins | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Penguins -127 Favorites
Pittsburgh hopes to bounce back at home in Game 2 of this East Division first-round playoff series after losing the opener in overtime on Sunday. The division champion Penguins fell 4-3 in overtime to the fourth-seeded Islanders as -140 favorites, ending their three-game winning streak. The hero for New York was former New Jersey winger Kyle Palmieri, who scored two goals in the win after totaling two in 17 games with the team during the regular season. Pittsburgh had won six of the previous eight meetings, including all four played at home. The OVER is on a 4-1 run for the Penguins overall and a 4-1-1 run for the Islanders.
Lightning vs Panthers | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -112 Favorites
Defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay will look to take a 2-0 lead on the road at Florida in their Central Division first-round playoff series, with Nikita Kucherov shining in his return to action on Sunday. Kucherov was on the ice for the first time in 2021 after recovering from a hip injury and scored two goals in a 5-4 victory for the third-seeded Lightning as -130 favorites versus the second-seeded Panthers, who had won the previous three meetings. The OVER is on a 3-1-1 run in the last five games overall for Tampa Bay and a 5-1-1 run in the past seven for Florida. The Panthers saw their six-game winning streak snapped with the loss.
Wild vs Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -167 Favorites
Vegas will try to avoid losing three games in a row at home for the second time this year when the team hosts Minnesota in Game 2 of their West Division first-round playoff series. The Golden Knights were blanked 1-0 in overtime by the Wild as -155 favorites in Game 1 on Sunday, with the UNDER improving to 3-0-1 in their last four games. Minnesota beat Vegas twice at home on April 1 and 3 to hand the team its last three-game home skid of the season. The Golden Knights had failed to lose two straight home games prior to that in 2021. The Wild have won six of the nine meetings between the teams, including three on the road.
