Canucks vs Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Flames -141 Favorites
Vancouver hopes to end its season on a positive note by beating Calgary for the second straight time on Wednesday. The Canucks upset the Flames 4-2 as -105 home underdogs on Tuesday after losing the previous game 6-5 in overtime on Sunday at the Saddledome. Calgary had won three games in a row before suffering that loss, with two of the wins coming against Vancouver. The Flames have still won six of the nine meetings this year with this one pending. However, Calgary has dropped four of five when playing the second game of a back-to-back. Vancouver has been even worse though, riding a nine-game skid in the same exact situation.
Capitals vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -111 Odds
Boston brings home-ice advantage to TD Garden for Game 3 of this East Division first-round playoff matchup with Washington. The Bruins battled back to tie the series at 1-1 thanks to a 4-3 overtime victory against the Capitals as -140 road favorites on Monday. Brad Marchand scored the game-winning goal 39 seconds into OT after Taylor Hall tied it late in the third period to help Boston pull off the win. Washington goalie Craig Anderson stopped 44 of 48 shots in a losing effort while counterpart Tuukka Rask made 36 saves. The Bruins lost the previous two meetings and three of four in the series, with the OVER cashing for the first time in three games.
Predators vs Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -196 Favorites
Carolina will try to take a 2-0 series lead over Nashville in this Central Division playoff matchup with Nashville. The Hurricanes routed the Predators 5-2 as -175 home favorites in Game 1 on Monday behind two goals from captain Jordan Staal. Carolina played in front of nearly 12,000 fans for the series opener, which is the largest crowd in the NHL this year. Nashville lost for the seventh time in nine meetings and saw the OVER cash for the first time in its last four games. The UNDER was on a 4-0 series run before they combined for seven goals in Game 1.
Jets vs Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -145 Favorites
Edmonton begins its run at the Stanley Cup in Game 1 of a North Division first-round playoff series versus Winnipeg. The Oilers saw their three-game winning streak come to an end in a meaningless 4-1 loss to the Canucks as -190 home favorites on Saturday, as that setback did not impact postseason seeding in any way. The UNDER also cashed for the first time in Edmonton’s last five games, and the team had won six of seven as well prior to that loss. The Jets have dropped the past six meetings with the Oilers and seven of nine overall in 2021. Winnipeg enters the playoffs on a bit of a positive note though, winning two straight games by a combined score of 9-2 after losing two in a row and nine of 10 between April 17 and May 10.
Blues vs Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -213 Favorites
Colorado will look to take a 2-0 lead to St. Louis following Game 2 of their first-round playoff series in the West Division. The Avalanche and Blues were tied 1-1 going into the third period of Game 1 before Nathan MacKinnon scored the tiebreaking goal at the 30-second mark and then added an empty-netter in the final minute en route to a 4-1 victory for the hosts, who cashed as -360 favorites. Cup favorite Colorado has now closed as chalk of -360 or higher in three consecutive games, as the team has won six straight and nine of 10. St. Louis saw its three-game winning streak snapped while the UNDER continued on a 4-1 run in its last five. In addition, the Blues had won the previous two meetings with the Avalanche, both at home.
