Capitals vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -164 Favorites
Boston will look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4 of this East Division first-round playoff matchup on Friday. The Bruins edged the Capitals 3-2 in double overtime as -170 home favorites in Game 3 on Wednesday, with Craig Smith scoring the game-winning goal. Taylor Hall and Brad Marchand also added goals for Boston while Washington saw Alex Overchkin and Nic Dowd score. Goaltender Ilya Samsonov returned between the pipes for the Capitals and made 40 saves in his first action since May 1. Each of the first three games of this series have been decided in OT, and Washington has started three different goalies.
Hurricanes vs Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -167 Favorites
Carolina will go for a 3-0 series lead over Nashville in Game 3 of this Central Division playoff matchup series. The Hurricanes blanked the Predators 3-0 as -200 home favorites in Game 2 on Wednesday, playing in front of 12,000 fans for the second consecutive time. Nashville fell for the eighth time in 10 meetings, with the UNDER on a 3-1 run in the team’s last four overall. The UNDER has cashed in four of five for Carolina along with five of the past six meetings. However, the Predators have won the last two home meetings by a combined score of 8-1.
Jets vs Oilers | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Oilers -147 Favorites
Edmonton hopes to bounce back from a disappointing loss in Game 1 of its North Division playoff matchup with Winnipeg. The Jets upset the Oilers 4-1 as +145 road underdogs in the series opener on Wednesday for their third straight victory overall, with the UNDER cashing for the third time in their last four games. Edmonton had won the previous six meetings with Winnipeg and seven of the nine games played between them during the regular season. The Oilers have now lost two games in a row overall since winning three straight and six of seven.
Avalanche vs Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -201 Favorites
Colorado will attempt to pull off a rare road win at St. Louis in Game 3 of their West Division first-round playoff series. The Avalanche have lost in their last two trips to the Enterprise Center, and they have won just three times there in 14 games dating back to 2016. But the Blues will have their work cut out for them in trying to overcome a 2-0 deficit after getting outscored 10-4 in the first two games at Ball Arena in Denver. Colorado brings a seven-game winning streak into this one and has also won 10 of 11 while closing as a favorite of -240 or higher 10 times. The Avalanche are expected to be without winger Nazem Kadri due to a suspension for an illegal hit to Blues defenseman Justin Faulk that resulted in a five-minute penalty in Game 2.
