Hurricanes vs Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -138 Favorites
Nashville battled hard in Game 3 for a huge double-overtime victory and can now tie up this Central Division first-round playoff series with another win over Carolina in Game 4 on Sunday. The Predators got the game-winning goal from Matt Duchene in front of more than 12,000 fans at Bridgestone Arena to pull off the small upset 5-4 as +115 home underdogs on Friday. The Hurricanes had won the first two games by a combined score of 8-2 at PNC Arena and led 3-2 in the second period of Game 3 before having to rally to force OT. Nashville has won the past three home meetings with Carolina, scoring five goals in each of the last two.
Avalanche vs Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -172 Favorites
Colorado will try to become the first team to advance to the next round with a sweep of St. Louis in Game 4 of their West Division first-round matchup on the road. The Avalanche took care of business again in Game 3 on Friday, routing the Blues 5-1 as -235 road favorites to beat them for the third straight time in this series by three goals or more. St. Louis has had no answers for Colorado defensively and even outshot its opponent 32-25 in Game 3 but was only able to tally the one goal. The Avs will be without center Nazem Kadri for seven more games after he was suspended by the NHL for his hit on Blues defenseman Justin Faulk.
Bruins vs Capitals | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -126 Favorites
Boston can move on to the next round as well with one more win at Washington in Game 5 of their East Division first-round series. The Bruins went up 3-1 with a 4-1 victory against the Capitals as -160 home favorites on Friday, with the UNDER cashing for the second straight time. Boston took a 1-0 lead into the third period before scoring twice in the first 1:03 for a 3-0 advantage and never looked back. Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask faced just 20 shots while Capitals counterpart Ilya Samsonov turned away 33 of 37 in suffering his second consecutive defeat. The first three games of this series were decided in overtime, and Washington lost by more than one goal for the first time since falling 4-2 to Philadelphia back at home on May 7.
Oilers vs Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -105 Odds
Winnipeg can take a commanding 3-0 lead in this North Division first-round playoff matchup with Edmonton in Game 3 at home. The Jets edged the Oilers 1-0 in overtime Friday, with Paul Stastny scoring the game-winner to help them cash as +150 road underdogs in Game 2. Winnipeg extended its winning streak to four games with the victory after losing nine of 10. Edmonton has managed to score one goal so far, also losing the series opener 4-1 as a -165 home favorite. The Oilers are riding a three-game skid, with the UNDER going 3-0 during that stretch. Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck has been the star so far with 70 saves on 71 shots.
