Maple Leafs vs Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -179 Favorites
Toronto will go for its third win in a row over Montreal in Game 4 of their North Division first-round playoff matchup on Tuesday. The Maple Leafs edged the Canadiens 2-1 as -190 road favorites in Game 3 on Monday to take a 2-1 series lead behind goals from William Nylander and Morgan Rielly in the second period. Goaltender Jack Campbell also stood tall for Toronto by stopping 28 of 29 shots to earn the victory against Montreal’s Carey Price, who made some outstanding saves as well but not enough to get the win. The Maple Leafs have won seven of the past 10 meetings with the Canadiens now, with the UNDER going 8-3-1 in the last 12. Toronto has won four of six when playing the second game of a back-to-back situation while Montreal has dropped four straight in the same situation after winning four in a row.
Predators vs Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Hurricanes -185 Favorites
Carolina is hoping home ice continues to be an advantage in Game 5 of this Central Division first-round playoff series versus Nashville. The home team has won each of the first four games, as the Predators took the last two even though they needed double overtime in both to even the series at 2-2. The Hurricanes have closed as favorites in all four games so far, but they have lost the past four road meetings with the Predators, who have similarly lost six consecutive games at PNC Arena. In fact, the previous five games between the teams played at Carolina have been decided by two goals or more, with four of the last five decided by three or more.
