Islanders vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -172 Favorites

Boston hopes to hold serve and keep home ice in Game 5 of this East Division second-round playoff matchup with New York. The Islanders guaranteed at least one more return to Nassau Coliseum for Game 6 after topping the Bruins 4-1 as +125 home underdogs on Saturday. New York did the same thing in the first round, splitting the first four games with the Pittsburgh Penguins with a Game 4 victory before also taking Game 5 on the road and Game 6 at home to advance.

Boston will look to prevent that from happening by bouncing back at TD Garden, where the team has lost just twice in 13 games dating back to the regular season. The Bruins have also failed to drop consecutive games so far this postseason, and they won five of the past seven meetings with the Islanders despite losing two of the last three in this series.

Jets vs Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -125 Favorites

Montreal can sweep Winnipeg with one more victory in Game 4 of their North Division second-round playoff series. The Canadiens turned in their best offensive performance in Game 3 on Sunday, routing the Jets 5-1 as -125 home favorites behind two short-handed goals from Joel Armia, and 26 saves from goaltender Carey Price. Montreal has won six games in a row going back to the first round versus the Toronto Maple Leafs, when the team took three straight after trailing 3-1.

It will take a near-miracle for Winnipeg to come back in this spot, especially without one of the club’s best players in Mark Scheifele, who will be serving the third game of his four-game suspension here for his hit on Jake Evans in Game 1. One positive for the Jets though is that they have won their last two when playing the second game of a back-to-back after losing seven of their previous eight in that situation. On the other hand, the Canadiens will be trying to break a five-game skid under the exact same scenario in playing back-to-back nights.
