Lightning vs Hurricanes | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -115 Favorites
Tampa Bay will try to close out Carolina on the road in Game 5 of their Central Division second-round playoff series on Tuesday. The Lightning rallied back for a huge 6-4 victory in Game 4 as a -160 home favorite on Saturday after trailing 4-2 a little more than halfway through the second period. The defending Stanley Cup champions outscored the Hurricanes 1-0 in the first and third periods and equaled them in a remarkable eight-goal second that pushed the total OVER for only the second time in 14 meetings.
Carolina will now try to avoid elimination in a must-win situation after losing three of the first four games in this series. That includes the first two home games of this series for the Hurricanes, who have not dropped three in a row at PNC Arena since February 28, 2020. The Lightning have won four of their five road games this postseason.
Golden Knights vs Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -145 Favorites
Colorado hopes to bounce back from its first two losses of the playoffs back home in Game 5 of this West Division second-round playoff matchup with Vegas. The Golden Knights tied up the series 2-2 on Sunday with a 5-1 rout as -115 home favorites in Game 4 after winning Game 3 as identical chalk 3-2. The Avalanche had won 11 straight games prior to visiting T-Mobile Arena, including six in a row this postseason.
Now they will look to rebound at Ball Arena, where they have not lost since falling to their current opponent 3-2 back on March 27, a span of 13 games. In fact, Vegas won twice at Denver during the regular season, also pulling off a 3-0 victory as a +115 road underdog on February 22. The OVER is 5-2 in the last seven home games for the Avalanche and cashed for just the fourth time in 12 meetings in Game 4.
