Golden Knights vs Canadiens | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -170 Favorites
Montreal returns home to the Bell Centre tied with Vegas at 1-1 in their Stanley Cup semifinal series heading into Game 3 on Friday. The Canadiens stunned the Golden Knights 3-2 in Game 2 as +210 road underdogs on Wednesday, jumping out to a 3-0 lead and then holding on despite two goals from Alex Pietrangelo. The Vegas defenseman provided the only offense for a team that continues to lead the NHL in goals from blueliners this postseason.
Montreal got goals from Joel Armia, Tyler Toffoli and Paul Byron while goaltender Carey Price turned in an outstanding effort between the pipes with 29 saves to earn a career-best ninth playoff win in the same year. The Canadiens have now won six of the eight all-time meetings with the Golden Knights, and the total landed right on the closing number of 5 after sitting at 5.5 for the series opener. The UNDER is still 3-1-1 in the last five games overall for Montreal and 7-3-1 in the team’s previous 11 games. Vegas is 3-3 on the road during the playoffs, with the UNDER going 4-1 in the past five.
