Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -167 Favorites
New York and Tampa Bay are tied at 2-2 in this best-of-seven Stanley Cup semifinal series, which is headed back to Amalie Arena for Game 5 on Monday. The Islanders evened up the series on Saturday with a 3-2 victory as +110 home underdogs in Game 4, the third straight time they have won that game at home this postseason.
The Lightning made things interesting in the third period though, scoring two goals, including Brayden Point’s seventh in as many games, and nearly tying it up in the closing seconds. New York defenseman Ryan Pulock made the key save to keep Tampa Bay from sending Game 4 to overtime, and goaltender Semyon Varlamov stopped 28 shots as well to help preserve the win.
The Lightning had won 18 of the previous 25 meetings, with the total landing on the closing number of five goals for the first time in the series after the UNDER cashed in two of the first three games. That also ended an 8-2 UNDER run for Tampa Bay, which has not lost two playoff games in a row since getting swept in 2019.
