Canadiens vs Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -240 Favorites
Vegas is fortunate to be headed home to T-Mobile Arena for Game 5 on Tuesday tied 2-2 with Montreal in their Stanley Cup semifinal series. The Golden Knights pulled out a 2-1 overtime victory against the Canadiens as -180 road favorites in Game 4 on Sunday thanks to a pair of goals from unlikely sources and a stellar effort between the pipes from goaltender Robin Lehner (27 saves). Nic Roy scored the game-winning goal for Vegas in front of family at Montreal after defenseman Brayden McNabb slipped the puck past goalie Carey Price to even the score at 1-1 midway through the third period. McNabb became the seventh blueliner for the Golden Knights to score this postseason, tying an NHL record with five other teams.
Lehner was also a surprise starter for Vegas in place of Vezina Trophy finalist Marc-Andre Fleury, who had lost the previous two games in this series and appeared to need a break. The Game 5 starter remains unknown, but Fleury is the more likely choice to return to the net back at home with the series now tied. The Canadiens have still won seven of the 10 all-time meetings, and the UNDER moved to 4-1-2 in their last seven games overall as well. In addition, the UNDER has gone 5-1-1 in the past seven for the Golden Knights on the road compared to the OVER going 4-2-1 in their previous seven at home, where they have won five of six heading into Game 5.
