Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -135 Favorites
Montreal will look to close out Vegas in Game 6 of their semifinal series at home on Thursday night and move on to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since winning it all in 1993.
The Canadiens have put themselves in excellent position of advancing thanks to an impressive 4-1 upset win versus the Golden Knights as +190 road underdogs in Game 5 on Tuesday. Montreal goaltender Carey Price continued his dominance between the pipes with 26 saves, holding Vegas to two goals or less for the fourth consecutive game. The Golden Knights saw Price’s counterpart Marc-Andre Fleury give up three goals for the third straight time, so bettors could see fellow goalie Robin Lehner in net against the Canadiens in this key spot with their backs against the wall. Lehner was brilliant in Game 4 on the road, leading Vegas to a 2-1 overtime victory with 27 saves. While it would not be shocking to see Fleury again here, Lehner could get the call considering the circumstances.
After Game 5, the UNDER moved to 4-1-3 in Montreal’s last eight games overall, landing right on the closing number for the third time in the team’s past four outings. The UNDER has also gone 5-1-1 in the previous seven games overall for the Golden Knights on the road, where they have dropped four of six going into Game 6.
