Blue Jackets vs Lightning | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -164 Favorites
What will these teams do for an encore after the Lightning edged the Blue Jackets 3-2 in five overtimes as -165 favorites on Tuesday? That Game 1 victory was much more important for Tampa Bay than Columbus considering last year’s sweep in the first round by the latter. The Blue Jackets were dominated across the board in most statistical categories yet still hung around in the opener and nearly pulled off another upset. Columbus goaltender Joonas Korpisalo made an NHL record 85 saves in defeat, but Tampa Bay’s Brayden Point got him for the second time in scoring the game-winning goal. So where do we go from here? Expect another low-scoring affair, as the UNDER is on a 5-0 run for the Lightning, and it has gone 7-2 in the last nine for the Blue Jackets as well.
Blackhawks vs Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -201 Favorites
These two high-scoring teams were held in check early on in Game 1 before the Golden Knights scored twice in both the second and third periods to pick up a 4-1 win over the Blackhawks as -200 favorites on Tuesday. Vegas was averaging five goals per game going into the series opener and saw the UNDER cash for the first time in four games. Meanwhile, Chicago lost for the ninth time in 10 all-time meetings, with the UNDER going 3-1 in the past four. The Golden Knights continued their third-period dominance with two goals from Reilly Smith to ice the victory, as they have now outscored opponents 10-1 in the final stanza this postseason.
Hurricanes vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -142 Favorites
The Bruins will go for their second straight win on back-to-back days when they face the Hurricanes following a 4-3 double-overtime victory in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference series on Wednesday. Boston rewarded backers as a -140 favorite and snapped a three-game skid that dropped the team down to the fourth seed. The UNDER is 3-1 the last four times the Bruins have played the second game of a back-to-back situation and 6-2 in the past eight. For Carolina, the team has gone 5-1 the last six times when playing the second game of a back-to-back. However, the Hurricanes have now lost seven straight games in the series and 11 of 12.
Flames vs Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Stars -108 Favorites
The Stars are in dire need of a win here against the Flames, or else it could be an early exit for them. Calgary won Game 1 over Dallas 3-2 in a pick’em matchup on Tuesday, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead after the first period on a pair of Dillon Dube goals before holding on for the victory. Surprisingly, Ben Bishop did not get the start in goal for the Stars despite reportedly being deemed healthy, with Anton Khudobin taking his place and surrendering three goals on 26 shots as they lost for the ninth time in 10 games dating back to the regular season. Bishop may get the nod for Game 2. The Flames have won three of the past four meetings after losing the previous six.
