Islanders vs Flyers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Flyers -115 Favorites

The hottest team to start the regular season will square off against the hottest team to close the regular season on Monday when the Islanders meet the Flyers in Game 1 of their best-of-seven, second-round playoff series in the Eastern Conference. New York began the campaign at 16-3-1 after going 15-0-1 over a stretch of 16 games, and Philadelphia closed out the season before the pause by winning nine of 10.

However, the Islanders have won the past four meetings with the Flyers, and the OVER is on a 5-0 run in the previous five games between the teams. Going back even further in the series, the OVER is 11-1 in the last 12 meetings, which is a little surprising considering both of these teams have gotten great play from their goaltenders this postseason. In fact, the winner in those last 12 games has scored four goals or more each time.

Stars vs Avalanche | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -162 Favorites

The Avalanche were one of the favorites to hoist the Stanley Cup heading into this second round and now have major injury concerns as they look to even their series with the Stars in Game 2. Colorado fell 5-3 to Dallas in Game 1 as a -165 favorite on the NHL betting lines, losing starting goaltender Philipp Grubauer to a lower-body injury suffered in the second period on Saturday. Grubauer will miss at least this game and perhaps the entire series or more while defenseman Erik Johnson and winger Matt Calvert are also listed as questionable with injuries.

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar will now rely on backup goalie Pavel Francouz, who stopped 18-of-20 shots in relief of Grubauer in Game 1. Meanwhile, the Stars have thrived without their starting goalie Ben Bishop, as Anton Khudobin has been very good in his place. With the Game 1 victory, they have won five of the past six meetings, and the lone loss came 4-0 in round-robin play on August 5. Francouz started that game for Colorado and turned in a 27-save shutout. The UNDER was on a 7-0 run in the last seven meetings as well prior to Game 1.
