Lightning vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -113 Favorites
The Lightning turned in their best performance of the postseason in a 7-1 rout of the Bruins as -115 favorites in Game 3 on Wednesday, and now they will try to take a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4 on Saturday. Tampa Bay jumped on Boston early, taking a 2-0 lead after the first period and extending it to 3-0 before the Bruins scored their lone goal on the power play in the second. The Lightning scored three power-play goals of their own to fuel the victory while goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 23 of 24 shots to earn the win. Boston starting goalie Jaroslav Halak was chased after he gave up four goals on 16 shots, and backup Dan Vladar did not fare much better in allowing three more on 15 shots. The Bruins are in danger of losing three in a row for the second time in the playoffs, and the UNDER has gone 3-1 in their last four wins. The OVER is 3-1 in Tampa Bay’s last four games, with all three OVERs resulting in wins.
Flyers vs Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -112 Favorites
The Flyers put in a rebound effort in Game 2 on Wednesday afternoon, edging the Islanders 4-3 in overtime as -115 betting favorites to even their best-of-seven series at 1-1 heading into Game 3. Philadelphia still has not lost consecutive games since January 7 but blew a 3-0 lead in Game 2 before Philippe Myers buried the game-winner at the 2:41 mark of OT to tie things up. Kevin Hayes scored a pair of goals for the Flyers in the victory, and Sean Couturier also had a marker on the day. New York got goals from Anthony Beauvillier and Jean-Gabriel Pageau in the last nine minutes of the contest to force the extra frame, and saw backup goaltender Thomas Greiss stop 20 of 21 shots in relief of starter Semyon Varlamov, who surrendered the first three goals to the Flyers on just 10 shots. Philadelphia goalie Carter Hart made 31 saves in Game 2 on 34 Islanders shots, and owns a .935 playoff save percentage.
Golden Knights vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -190 Favorites
The Golden Knights and Canucks are all tied up and looking to gain an edge after both of them may have played their best games of the postseason in the first two games of this series. Vegas routed Vancouver 5-0 in Game 1 as a -200 favorite on Sunday while the Canucks bounced back to beat the Golden Knights 5-2 in Game 2 as +180 underdogs on Tuesday. The most interesting trends for Vancouver are that the OVER has cashed in the team’s last six wins while the UNDER is 3-0 in the three losses. In other words, it is in the best interests of Vegas to slow the pace down as tempting as it is to play fast. The Golden Knights are clearly the more physical of the two teams, and they should be able to wear the Canucks down if they can continue to beat them up. That said, Vegas goalie Robin Lehner had his worst statistical performance for the team in Game 2, with his teammates leaving him in too many one-on-one situations. Marc-Andre Fleury has a 12-2-2 all-time mark versus Vancouver.
