Flyers vs Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -119 Favorites

The Flyers are still alive and can force a Game 7 against the Islanders with another victory in Game 6 on Thursday. Philadelphia blew a 3-1 lead in the third period but got the game-winning goal from Scott Laughton at the 12:20 mark of overtime in Game 5 to pull off a 4-3 win for the second time in the series. The Flyers cashed as +105 underdogs and avoided losing their third straight game for the first time since early January, with Claude Giroux scoring his first goal of the postseason and Sean Couturier suffering an injury in the second period.

Couturier is considered day-to-day, but his teammates were able to bounce back in OT thanks to Laughton. Philadelphia will likely ride goaltender Carter Hart again here in another elimination game while New York may opt for Thomas Greiss, who made 36 saves for his first win of the postseason in Game 4. The Islanders are favored for the fourth straight time in this series, and the UNDER is 4-0-1 in their last five wins. The OVER is 2-0-1 in the past three wins for the Flyers.

Golden Knights vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -222 Favorites

The Canucks will also look to extend their series with the Golden Knights to a Game 7 here in Game 6 following an impressive 2-1 win in Game 5 on Tuesday. Vancouver closed as a big +200 underdog and earned the victory behind a 42-save performance from surprise starting goaltender Thatcher Demko, who got the nod over regular starter Jacob Markstrom. Demko was fantastic between the pipes for Vancouver and could get the call again in this spot because Markstrom is dealing with a groin injury that kept him off the bench altogether in Game 5.

Vegas saw goalie Robin Lehner suffer his third loss since joining the team in late February via a trade, as he allowed two goals on just 17 shots, the lowest amount he has faced as a Golden Knight. Head coach Peter DeBoer could pick Marc-Andre Fleury to start over Lehner in Game 6, especially because he has only played in back-to-back situations this postseason, and a potential Game 7 is slated for Friday. Fleury is 13-2-2 in his last 17 starts versus the Canucks. Vegas has not lost consecutive games since February 11, which is before Lehner arrived.
