Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -153 Favorites
The Devils have won six games in a row against the Canadiens dating back to March 2018 heading into their matchup on Thursday night, with the OVER split evenly at 5-5 for totals bettors in the last 10 games between the two teams. New Jersey topped Montreal 4-3 as +135 road underdogs on the NHL odds in the first meeting of the season between the teams on November 16, with Taylor Hall and Nico Hischier each picking up two points for the Devils.
And the Canadiens have also lost five games in a row overall heading into Thursday, getting thumped 8-1 at home by the Bruins at -105 on the NHL moneyline in their last game on Tuesday night. That was the fifth OVER result in their last six outings. The Devils have lost three of their past four games, falling 3-2 at home to the Wild as -140 betting favorites in an UNDER result on Tuesday night. The UNDER is now 3-0 in New Jersey’s last three games.
