Daily PointsBet Picks – June 18th, 2022

Before the series started, I said on The Daily Faceoff Show that I really liked the value we were getting on the Tampa Bay Lightning at +150 to win the Stanley Cup. I felt like the two-time defending champs were being a little disrespected by the books.

I also said that while I was rolling with the Lightning to win the series at +150, I was putting aside a little bit of money in the event that they lost game one and the odds got even better. I was expecting that a game one loss would push their odds to around +190 or +200.

Well, sure enough, the Lightning dropped game one of the series and their odds plummeted, going all the way down to +230 on Pointsbet Canada. That’s basically the sportsbooks saying that they have a 30% chance of winning this series.

I’m sorry, but I’m not buying that. The Lightning have already dropped the first game of a series twice in these playoffs and last round they fell behind 2-0 on the road before storming back to win four straight against the Rangers. I think this is still very close to a 50/50 series which is why I’m laying some money on the Lightning to come back and win at +230.

I also really like them at +135 to win tonight. They started really slow on Wednesday but really started to find their game in the second period. Head Coach Jon Cooper has always found ways to adjust to what their opposition throws at them and I think that will help propel them to a game two victory.

My favourite prop is Ondrej Palat to get a point at -135. This price is just insane in my opinion. The guy is currently riding a five game point streak and has hit this prop in NINE OF HIS LAST TEN GAMES! That’s insane and I’m all over this.
