Daily PointsBet Picks – June 8th, 2022

There are… no hockey games today? That’s sad. It really makes you long for the days during rounds one and two when there were multiple games to watch and wager on every evening. Now, I guess we just sit around and wait for puck drop on Thursday evening.

In the meantime, why not discuss some futures bets that are available over on Pointsbet Canada. If you’re in Ontario, you can sign up here: https://bit.ly/3mmP4Np

The Lightning have shifted back to being fairly heavy series favourites again, coming in at -165 to win two of the next three games. The Rangers are +135.

On one hand, this has been a homer series so far so there’s a part of me that thinks the Rangers might be a wise play, but at the same time, how could really feel confident betting against the two-time defending Champions after watching the way they’ve played over the last two games.

If anything, my biggest regret is not betting on them when they were plus money after game two. It’s a lesson in how you can find value sometimes in the series odds as they wildly shift game after game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In fact, if the Rangers win tomorrow night, I very well may wager on the Lightning to win this series. Right now, I think I’m actually intrigued with the idea of betting on this series to go seven games at -115.

The other bet available right now are the Conn Smythe odds. Cale Makar is the favourite right now at +175 and he’s who I would be putting my money on. Nathan MacKinnon is right behind him at +200 but Makar was the more impactful player in the Western Conference Final and if he turns in another performance like that in the Stanley Cup Final, I think the trophy will be his.
