Daily Roundup: NHL pauses puck tracking, Brendan Lemieux’s amazing shot block and more

Welcome to Daily Roundup, your source for all of the news, rumours, and headlines from around the NHL.
Puck tracking paused
The NHL has put their puck tracking program on pause after concerns were raised about it impacting play.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews said players had realized that it didn’t slide on the ice as well as non-chipped pucks. The weight, Matthews added, was compared with normal pucks and seemed off.
Right now the league has taken the chipped pucks out of circulation and is working on a new batch.
This year marked the first time the league brought forth puck and player tracking which is expected to provide some tremendous new data.
Lemieux’s amazing block

Brendan Lemieux, rightly so, earned the amazing moment of the game last night between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils. He blocked a shot, had a skate break off, and then proceeded to flop like a fish out of water to get in front of another shot before crawling his way to the bench.
Amazing indeed.
Trevor Zegras’ Chipolte order
According to one redditor, World Junior MVP Trevor Zegras got a Chipolte bowl named after him. The bowl features chicken, brown rice, cheese, roasted chilli-corn salsa, and guacamole on top. Sounds delicious.
Julius Honka waived
The Dallas Stars placed Julius Honka on waivers Wednesday being the only player placed there. Drafted in the 1st round of the 2014 draft by the Stars, the 25-year-old Honka has played nearly his entire career in the organization.
Last season, however, he didn’t sign in Dallas playing for JYP in the Finnish Elite League, where he returned to start this campaign.
He’s very well a player who could get claimed.
