DailyFaceoff/Corsica NHL Bets (December 17th)

The Corsica NHL betting predictions nearly missed out on a perfect night on Friday. Corsica wasn’t a fan of the Avs being 1.5-goal favourites on the road, giving the Blues a 75.94% chance of covering the spread. St. Louis edged Colorado in overtime by a score of 4-3, securing Corsica’s most probable bet on the slate. Unfortunately for Corsica, Mikko Rantanen’s third-period goal ended any chance of the game finishing with less than 6.5 goals, foiling their high-value bet.

You can expect a busy NHL schedule this week as the league prepares for its mini-break over the holidays. I’ve highlighted Corsica’s most probable and valuable bets for tonight’s five-game slate below. You can find predictions for all of tonight’s games here. Good luck!

Highest Probability

Bruins @ Canadiens – Spread | BOS +1.5 (-212)

According to Corsica, with a 68.63% chance of hitting, the Bruins covering a +1.5-goal spread against the Habs is the most probable bet on tonight’s slate. Boston’s top line has continued to produce despite the absence of Patrice Bergeron. David Krejci has proven himself to be a competent replacement, racking up two goals and six assists in his last five games. Krejci, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak should wreak havoc against the Habs at 5v5 tonight. Dating back to last season, the three of them are averaging 38 scoring chances and 19 high-danger chances per 60 together at 5v5.

Jaroslav Halak is expected to get the start in goal for the Bruins tonight. The 33-year-old veteran has outplayed teammate Tuukka Rask to date, posting a .926 SV% and a 9-5-2 record in 18 appearances this season. A typical effort from Halak is all the Bruins will need to keep this one close, if not win outright.

Highest Value

Golden Knights @ Blue Jackets – Over/Under | Under 6.5 (-105)

The Blue Jackets’ normally-potent offense should be held in check by the suppressive play of the Golden Knights tonight. Vegas is surrendering the fewest shots per 60 and the third-fewest scoring chances per 60 at 5v5 this season. At 2.86, their goals against per game is slightly inflated by the second-worst 5v5 SV% in the NHL. It might be asking a lot, but even just a mediocre performance in goal would go a long way towards helping this game hit the under.

When you consider that both teams have struggled with the man advantage but have excelled at killing penalties, it’s easy to see why Corsica is so keen on the under tonight. Corsica gives this game a 63.22% chance of finishing with less than 6.5 goals.
