Highest Value

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Toronto Maple Leafs — Over/Under | Under 6.5 (+112)

The Maple Leafs lead the NHL in goal-scoring (4.71 GF/PG) and the Penguins sit 13th (3.40) through the early-part of the season. The two high-powered offences make betting the Under (6.5) tonight a little risky, but Toronto’s offence has slowed down a bit in recent games. Toronto has hit the under in two straight games and the Penguins have done so in three of their last four games.

To help matters for hitting the under tonight is the return of both of their starting goalies—Frederik Andersen vs. Matt Murray. Each goalie has had a slow start to the season, but are upgrades on Garret Sparks and Casey DeSmith.

Highest Probability

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Toronto Maple Leafs — Spread | PIT +1.5 (-213)

The Penguins possess one of the best groups of forwards in the NHL and they should have success against a weak Maple Leafs’ blueline tonight. The Penguins are currently right in the middle of the pack in terms of scoring chances for/60, but Toronto is giving up the fourth most (31.53) scoring chances against/60 thus far. Even if the Toronto offence continues to fire on all cylinders, the Penguins should be able to keep this game close with a high-powered attack of their own. And if the under 6.5 bet that was mentioned above hits, that bodes well for Pittsburgh covering the +1.5 spread as well. The Maple Leafs are currently 4-2 against the spread this season. Pittsburgh is 2-1-1.
