We’ve got a small three-game slate tonight, and several players at each position are jumping out as great value options who are either in critical roles for their team or proving great production.

This value sheet includes salaries, projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, and three punt defencemen options.

These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.

FULL DFO Daily Projections

Gabriel Vilardi (W, WPG) – vs. DET – (DK-$5,000 / FD -$7,000)
DFO Projection:
DK-10.27 / FD-13.54

Vilardi shines more on DraftKings, but is still projecting at near a 2x salary on both sites. He and WPG1 are all popping as strong value plays on each site, despite their salaries.

Evgeny Kuznetsov (C, WSH) – vs. NYI – ($4,000 / $4,700)
DFO Projection:
DK-8.35 / FD-10.95

On both sites, Kuznetsov is popping in the projections, as he and his linemates on WSH3 — Hendrix Lapierre and Ivan Miroshnichenko — have the best-projected matchup on the slate. His inclusion on the Capitals’ power play unit is a plus, even though DFO has it as the 30th-ranked unit this season.

High-end defencemen

On both sites, the top three defensive values are Noah Dobson, Josh Morrissey and John Carlson — all projecting to around 2x their salaries. They’re great pay up options tonight, and a few cheaper plays will be included in the punts section.

Darcy Kuemper (G, WSH) – vs. NYI – ($7,800 / $7,900)
DFO Projection:
DK-11.5 / FD-16.5

Cam Talbot is my favourite goaltender play tonight, but Kuemper is the strongest “value” play on the slate.

Top 3 Punt Defencemen

  1. Rasmus Sandin, WSH ($3,300/$3,900): DK-6.6 / FD-8.56
  2. Dylan DeMelo, WPG ($3,100/$3,900): DK-6.12 / FD-8.05
  3. Jordan Spence ($2,700/$3,800): DK-4.82 / FD-6.40
