DailyFaceoff DFS Value Plays – January 4th

We’ve got a huge 13-game slate tonight, and several players at each position are jumping out as great value options who are either in critical roles for their team or proving great production.
This value sheet includes salaries, projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, and three punt defencemen options.
These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.
Travis Konecny (W, PHI) – vs. CBJ – (DK-$6,300 / FD -$7,600)
DFO Projection: DK-15.54 / FD-20.53
When we think of value, we’re often looking to pay down in salary. Tonight, Konecny is as good of a “pay up for value” option as there is. He projected to have among the highest point totals on either site, and his salary projections have him, at the very least, 2xing his salary. A number of Flyers are popping in projection models tonight, but I think Konecny is the best of the bunch.
Pierre Luc-Dubois (C, LAK) – vs DET – ($3,500 / $4,200)
DFO Projection: DK-8.1 / FD-10.5
If you’re looking for good non-Flyers options, Dubois is about as good as they get. Despite a gooseegg Wednesday against the Leafs, Dubois is projecting well tonight against the Red Wings. The Kings have mixed up their lines in hopes of generating some more goals, and having Adrian Kempe now flanking him should help with that.
Philippe Myers (D, TBL) – @ MIN – ($2,500 / $3,500)
DFO Projection: DK-6.8 / FD-8.25
I’ll happily mix in some min. salary Myers. He’s scored 5.6 and 4.3 DKFP in his first two games, and is projecting for higher than that tonight while playing on the Lightning’s second pairing.
K’Andre Miller (D, NYR) – vs. CHI – ($3,700 / $4,500)
DFO Projection: DK-7.4 / FD-9.8
Miller projects as the best >$4k defenceman on DraftKings, with the Rangers in a very favourable matchup against Chicago. He’s 3x’d his salary multiple times this season, hitting as high as 30.8 DKFP against Washington shortly after Christmas. His ability to have must-have performances make him a very appealing option tonight.
Top 3 Punt Defencemen
- Nick Seeler, PHI ($3,600/$4,300): DK-5.6 / FD-7
- Jarred Tinordi, CHI ($2,800/$3,600): DK-4.6 / FD-5.8
- Mike Reilly, NYI ($3,900/$4,800): DK-7.3 / FD-9.1
