Dallas Stars Head Coach Pete DeBoer told reporters on Friday that forward Jason Robertson will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, with the news coming just one day ahead of the Stars’ Game 1 matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.

Following the Stars’ regular-season finale, a 5-1 loss to the Nashville Predators, Robertson left the rink with a brace on his right knee. According to The Hockey News reporter Emma Lingan, Robertson “looks to be in quite a bit of pain.”

Robertson finished the season with 35 goals and 45 assists for 80 points in 82 regular-season games. His 35 goals led the team, while he finished second in both assists and points.

In six NHL seasons, Robertson has 168 goals and 226 assists for 394 points in 374 career regular-season games. The 25-year-old Robertson has also played in 45 Stanley Cup Playoff games, scoring 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points.

Before joining the NHL full-time, Robertson spent most of the 2019-20 season with the AHL’s Texas Stars, scoring 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points in 60 games.

Robertson was taken by the Stars in the second round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, the majority with the Kingston Frontenacs and traded midway through his fourth season with the Niagara IceDogs.

Through his OHL four seasons, Robertson scored 149 goals and 168 assists for 317 points in 252 regular-season games.

The Stars are 50-26-6 with 106 points, second in the Central Division. However, they closed out the season with a seven-game losing streak, going 3-5-2 in their last 10 games.
