The Dallas Stars and general manager Jim Nill announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with forward Jaxon Fuder.

Fuder, a 19-year-old who was not selected in the 2025 NHL Draft, spent his final season in junior hockey split between the BCHL’s Rowell River Kings and the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL.

While with the Rebels, Fuder appeared in 46 regular season contests, scoring 11 goals and dishing out 15 assists in the process. He also was assessed 91 minutes worth of penalties. For his efforts, Fuder was recognized by the organization with the Darcy Robinson Award, which is reserved for the player deemed to be the most underrated on the Rebels.

Fuder was invited to Dallas’ development camp after the draft, and showed enough with that opportunity to earn an invitation to training camp on an amateur tryout agreement. In conjunction with their announcement of the contract signing, the Stars also announced that they are loaning him back to Red Deer.

The move works to add another prospect to the team’s pipeline after a 2025 Draft that saw them make six selections, including just one in the top 100 at No. 94 overall in winger Cameron Schmidt.

The Stars are also currently without picks in the first and fourth rounds of the 2026 draft, with the former going out in the deal that brought Mikko Rantanen to the club.

Dallas began its preseason slate with a 2-1 shootout victory over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, though Fuder did not appear in that game. The Stars are back in action on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild, and the team has announced a lineup that seems roughly in line with what the club might ice for its first game of the regular season on October 9 against the Winnipeg Jets.
