Red Wings re-acquire David Perron from Senators for conditional pick

The Detroit Red Wings have re-acquired veteran forward David Perron from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a conditional 2026 fourth-round draft pick, the club announced Thursday evening.
Perron, 37, has 10 goals and 25 points in 49 games with the Senators this year. The 6′ winger is under contract through the end of the 2025-26 season at a $4 million annual cap hit.
The Senators will receive the fourth-round pick (originally belonging to the Columbus Blue Jackets) if Perron plays one game with the Red Wings before the end of the regular season; he has been out since Jan. 20 while recovering from a sports hernia.
Additionally, if the Red Wings reach the second round of the playoffs, with Perron playing in at least half of the first round, the pick will upgrade to Detroit’s own 2026 third-round selection.
