DFO Daily Cash Targets (11/02)

In this article I will be giving you three cash game targets per tier, two being stud plays and one being a value play, hopefully this will give everyone a nice base on who to use in your cash game lineups.
Centres:
Steven Stamkos – Tampa Bay’s top line has arguably been the best line in the NHL this season. They are pretty much match up proof and are a good play against anyone. Tonight, Stamkos gets a plus matchup against the Rangers who struggle defensively and are 25th in the NHL in goal allowed per game with 3.54 and have the 22nd ranked PK. This bodes well for Stamkos who had a ridiculous 24 points in 13 games this season. In his past five games he has four goals, six assists, and 16 shots on goal. He is a great play in any format tonight.
Note: You can easily pair him with Nikita Kucherov in any format, I didn’t list Kucherov in the winger section because it is a large slate and I wanted to give you options, however it is a fine play to use both in cash.
Patrice Bergeron – The Bruins get a great home matchup tonight again the Vegas Golden Knights and their 4th string goalie Maxime Legace. The Bruins loaded their top line and this only favors Bergeron, he has only played in five games this season and he’s only hit the score sheet in two of those games, however even in the games he didn’t he still put up a minimum of 2.5 DK points which means he has a high floor. These are the types of players you want to target in cash. I find it hard to believe that Bergeron will not hit the score sheet tonight, he is averaging 21 minutes and 4.2 SOG per night, with David Pastrnak now joining the top line this will be one of the most dangerous lines of the night.
Mikael Backlund – He may not be the sexiest option on the board tonight, however, he does provide some salary relief if you want to spend up at wing and defense. Even though he has a lot of defensive zone starts, the Flames are playing the Penguins who already struggle defensively and are on a back to back. Backlund has been averaging about 19 minutes of ice time a game and see time on the power play. He is a good bargain in cash tonight at only $4700 on Draftkings.
Wingers:
David Pastrnak – With the Bruins dealing with a bunch of injury issues, David Pastrnak has been moved to the top line, making the line easily one of the most dangerous in the NHL. In ten games this season he has six goals and five assists, combined with shots of goal, Pasta is averaging 4.4 fantasy points per game. With the bump to the first line this also correlates him on the power play as well, making him an elite option in any format tonight.
Mike Hoffman – I don’t know what Mike Hoffman has to do to get a shot at the top line in Ottawa but what do I know, I am just a DFS analyst. In the past four games Hoffman has one goal, five assists and 14 shots on goal, all while averaging about 21 minutes of ice time. The thing that I love about Hoffman for cash is that no matter where he slots into the lineup he is on the top power play unit which is 11th in the NHL despite Erik Karlsson missing most of the first month of the season. Hoffman is a good play in any format tonight.
Josh Bailey – Bailey is not a “must have” tonight because there is no such thing, however, he is only $4300 on Draftkings tonight, which provides great salary relief and he is averaging over a point per game this season with three goals and 11 assists in 13 games. Bailey has also recently been moved up to the top line with Tavares and Lee, and shares top power play tonight with them as well. That only strengthens Bailey as a cash game option tonight. It is a perceived poor matchup for Bailey tonight but the Capitals have struggled mightily on defense and are still without Niskanen. If you need the savings on the wing, Bailey is a fine option.
Defensemen:
Erik Karlsson – Another guy who is pretty much matchup proof, Karlsson gets a great matchup tonight against the Detroit Red Wings. He has 10 assists in seven games this season without scoring a goal but you know at some point it is definitely coming, will it be tonight, I don’t know but regardless he will see well over 20 minutes of ice time and basically every second of power play time tonight. He is arguably the best defensemen in the league and you shouldn’t need any more convincing to have to play him in cash tonight.
Shea Weber – Still moderately priced on Draftkings, Weber has been performing just as good if not better than some elite priced defenseman. In his past four games, Weber has two goals, five assists, 17 shots on goal, and eight blocked shots. He has a heavy clapper from the point on the power play and if you can’t fit Karlsson at $7100 tonight, Weber is an excellent consolation prize at $5900. You could also pair him with Karlsson in cash tonight and would make for a deadly defensive combo tonight.
Colin Miller – If you are looking to save a little salary on the blue line tonight, Miller is only $3900 on DraftKings tonight. The Bruins are very top heavy and their depth will be tested a lot. Miller has been very good on the power play for Vegas as well, and I think this is a decent matchup for him tonight with all the injuries for Boston. If you also believe in narrative street this is his return to Boston tonight after he was unprotected and selected by the Golden Knights in the expansion draft. In his past four games, Miller has one goal, four assists, and eight shots on goal which is a pretty solid floor for someone at his price. He is a nice salary saving option on the blue line tonight.
