As featured in the DFO DFS SHOW, I have created a 5v5 DFS SCORE that allows us to identify the top targets every night. Below is an explanation of how 5v5 DFS SCORE works and a FREE preview for this afternoon’s mini two-game slate that features: OTT vs. MTL and STL vs. ARI.

DFS 5v5 SCORE is calculated by taking every line’s OFFENSIVE and DEFENSIVE numbers and running them against the opposing teams. Using historical data we project each lines 5v5 Usage (TOI) and Matchups (as shown below).

For example, we project that OTT3 (Stützle-Tierney-Brown) will play 71 percent of their 5v5 ice-time against MTL1 (Tatar-Danault-Gallagher). That will translate into 49 percent of MTL1s 5v5 TOI coming vs. OTT3. All of that TOI is simulated, using the stats below to give us an idea of how many Scoring Chances, High-Danger Chances and Expected Goals For each line will generate.

Once we have those numbers, they are compared to the stats of all the other lines on that slate to determine which lines are the best. A score of 0.00 would be average and the higher the 5v5 SCORE the better.

The 5v5 SCORES are then presented in an easy to read table like this ⬆️. The table also includes each player’s DraftKings Salary so you can easily identify the best value stacks and plays as well.
