DFS Lines to Target: 01/02/20

It’s a busy 12-game Thursday night in the NHL. I’ve highlighted my top high-priced, medium-priced and value stacks to help you out. Good luck!

High-Priced

Florida 1 – Jonathan Huberdeau ($6,700), Aleksander Barkov ($6,700), Evgenii Dadonov ($5,900)

After being held off their scoreboard in their last outing against Columbus, Florida’s top line has a great chance of rebounding tonight against a struggling Ottawa squad. The Senators have lost three of their last four games and are allowing 3.25 goals per game — eighth most in the NHL.

This Panthers trio is approaching 400 minutes played together this year, and they’ve been electric. Huberdeau is vying for the NHL scoring title with 53 points through 39 games, while Barkov has 13 goals and 45 points and Dadonov has 14 goals and 29 points.  They own a 54.70 CF% at even-strength and will mainly be matched up against Ottawa first line, which owns a 49.86 CF%. All three players in this Florida stack play on the first power-play unit and should produce against netminder Craig Anderson,  who gave up four goals in his last start and owns a .907 save percentage this season.

Medium-Priced

Tampa Bay 2 – Alex Killorn ($5,600), Anthony Cirelli ($4,600), Steven Stamkos ($6,900)

Tampa Bay’s second line is coming off an impressive showing against Buffalo in which they combined for three goals and five assists to lead a comeback victory. There’s a good chance for them to keep it rolling tonight against a Montreal squad that has lost three straight games and given up at least four goals in three of three of their last four outings. The Habs also own one of the worst penalty kill units in the NHL (76% efficiency).

Cirelli is the only member of this stack who doesn’t play on Tampa Bay’s lethal first power-play unit, which had helped the team operate at almost 30 percent efficiency with the man advantage this year. There’s no reason to exclude Cirelli from this stack, however, as the two-way forward has been a beast at even-strength with 23 five-on-five points in 37 games. This Tampa Bay trio overall has been among the NHL’s best at five-on-five (56 CF%) and have a strong matchup going up against the Domi, Suzuki and Lekhonen line, which owns a mediocre 50 CF%.

Value Stack

Boston 2 – Jake DeBrusk ($4,700), David Krejci ($4,400), Charlie Coyle ($3,700)

Boston’s second line comes at a nice price tonight considering the matchup. With Alexandre Texier out indefinitely, the Blue Jackets have put together a new-look second line of Pierre Luc-Dubois, Nathan Gerbe and recent AHL call-up Kevin Stenlund. None of these players appear to have played with each other before and there will likely be some unfamiliarity tonight. This Boston line will also see some of Columbus’ third line, which includes Sonny Milano, Alexander Wennberg and newcomer Evan Robinson. Robinson is the new addition, and Milano and Wennberg have just a 47.69 CF% together in a 40 minute sample size.

DeBrusk is heating up with three goals in his last four games, while Krecji is returning from a lower-body injury and continues to be a consistent fantasy producer with 28 points in 34 games. Coyle has picked up three points in his last four games and plays on the second power-play unit with both Krejci and DeBrusk. The Blue Jackets are also without starting goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, so look for this line to get on the board against Elvis Merzlikins, who owns an underwhelming .900 save percentage in nine starts.
