DFS Lines to Target: 02/04/20

The NHL is back in full swing tonight with a 13-game Tuesday slate. I’ve gone over my top high-priced, medium-priced and value stacks to help you out. Good luck!

High-Priced

Washington 1 – Alex Ovechkin ($8,500), Nicklas Backstrom ($6,400), Tom Wilson ($5,100)

There are numerous quality first-line stack options tonight, but Washington 1 vs. LA is arguably the safest option. This Capitals stack will be matched up against the Kings’ Iafallo, Kopitar and Brown trio, which owns an underwhelming 45.26 HDCF%. Washington’s top line has been very effective at generating high-danger chances, recording a 59.35 HDCF% this season.

Alex Ovechkin is one of the hottest players in the NHL right now with 12 goals in his last six games, while Backstrom has only been held pointless three times in his last 15 games. Wilson is priced nicely considering he’s got three goals and 10 points in his last 10 games. Backstrom and Ovechkin also offer great extra value playing on Washington’s lethal first power-play unit that is going up against an LA penalty kill that ranks in the bottom-five of the NHL (74.3% efficiency).

Medium-Priced

Nashville 1 – Matt Duchene ($5,300), Ryan Johansen ($5,000), Mikael Granlund ($4,800)

Nashville 1 vs. Winnipeg 1 tonight has the potential to be very high-event hockey. The Jets’ top line of Connor, Scheifele and Laine continues to get outchanced by opponents, and it should be no different tonight. This new first Nashville line only has around a 35-minute sample size, but they’ve put up some pretty solid numbers, including a 51.67 CF% and 72.22 HDCF%.

Duchene is up to 34 points, while Johansen has been heating up with two goals and four points in his last five games. Granlund has scored three times in his last six games and has earned a spot on the team’s first power-play unit. Winnipeg comes into this game with a disastrous penalty kill operating at only 74.1 percent efficiency. Considering how many quality chances and shots the Jets allow, Nashville’s top line comes at a great cost tonight.

Value Stack

Calgary 1 – Andrew Mangiapane ($3,600), Elias Lindholm ($5,300), Matthew Tkachuk ($6,000)

Calgary’s top line has a very favorable matchup tonight going up against San Jose’s top line of Evander Kane, Patrick Marleau and Barclay Goodrow. Kane and Goodrow only have a 47.84 CF% and 45.78 HDCF% in over 200 minutes of ice time together, while this Flames’ trio brings a 52.83 CF% and 54.65 HDCF% into this game.

Mangiapane doesn’t play on the power play, but he had a two-goal outing recently against Edmonton and is up to 10 goals in 51 games on the year. Lindholm (22) and Tkachuk (17) rank 1-2 in team goal-scoring and are both part of the team’s first power-play unit. The Sharks actually have the best PK percentage in the entire NHL but that’s trending down as they’ve given up a power-play marker in five of their last seven games. The Sharks are giving up 3.32 goals-per-game overall, so this Flames trio has solid value considering the line matchup and San Jose’s defensive struggles.
