DFS Lines to Target: 02/25/20

There are 26 NHL teams playing tonight as the action picks up following the trade deadline. I’ve gone over my top high-priced, medium-priced and value stacks to help you out. Good luck!

High-Priced

Boston 1 – Brad Marchand ($7,100), Patrice Bergeron ($7,000), David Pastrnak ($8,400)

Out of all the quality high-priced options tonight, you can’t go wrong with Boston’s elite first line vs. Calgary. This line has a 58.51 CF% and 56.10 HDCF% and will be matched up against the Gaudreau and Monahan line, which owns a 52.52 CF% and 47.65 HDCF%. This Boston trio really showed their potential to generate high quality chances in this matchup when they combined for three goals and six points in a 4-3 victory over Calgary on Friday.

Pastrnak has put three straight multi-point outings, Marchand is riding a six-game point streak and Bergeron has found the back of the net in six of his last eight outings. The Flames have allowed 18 goals in their last four games and likely won’t be able to contain this dynamite Boston first line. Add in the fact each player plays on the first power-play unit and you have the safest line stack option for this massive slate.

Medium-Priced

Philadelphia 1 – Claude Giroux ($5,500), Sean Couturier ($6,400), Jakub Voracek ($4,600)

The Flyers are catching the Sharks at a great time in their matchup Tuesday evening. San Jose has lost four straight games, while the Flyers have won three straight and are 12-4-1 in their past 17. The Flyers top line owns a 55.79 CF% and 57.14 HDCF% and will see a mix of SJS 1 and 2. The Sharks’ second line is getting outchanced at even-strength this season, while San Jose 1 with Kevin Labanc, Logan Couture and Evander Kane has a 56.52CF% and 50.00 HDCF%. The value comes with Couture being listed as a game-time decision and likely being rusty if he does play after missing seven weeks with a fractured ankle. Kane was also benched in the entire third period of his last game for poor play.

Aaron Dell will be getting the call in goal for the Sharks and he has allowed at least three goals in four of his past five starts. Giroux comes into this game on fire with four goals and 12 point in his last eight games, while Couturier has a six-game point streak and has scored six goals in his last eight games. All three players in this stack play on the first power-play unit and should do some significant damage in all situations against a struggling San Jose squad that is trending downwards and were sellers at the trade deadline.

Value Stack

Edmonton 1 – Tyler Ennis ($3,600), Connor McDavid ($8,100), Andreas Athanasiou ($4,500)

Edmonton has put together a “turbo” type of top line for their matchup against the Ducks tonight. McDavid and Athanasiou are two of the fastest skaters in the NHL, while the talented Ennis adds great speed as well. The two latest Oilers’ forward acquisitions should compliment McDavid nicely considering they both up solid numbers on poor teams this year. Ennis had 14 goals and 33 points in 61 games for Ottawa, while Athanasiou had 10 goals and 24 points in 46 games for Detroit. This line will be matched up against Anaheim’s third line of Max Jones, Sam Steel and Jakob Silfverberg, which owns a poor 44.94 CF% and 28.57 HDCF%.

Ennis and Athanasiou are expected to slot in on the team’s second power-play unit, which has the potential to be very dangerous with newcomer Mike Green joining Ethan Bear as the other power-play quarterback on this unit. John Gibson is expected to get the call in goal for the Ducks and he’s been inconsistent of late, getting torched for six goals in his last outing against Vegas. The Ducks rank in the bottom-10 of the league when it comes to shots allowed and high-danger chances allowed, so look for this line to make an immediate impact for the Oilers. If this trio clicks at the Honda Center tonight, you likely won’t be able to get this stack at a cheaper price. Take advantage while you can.
