WATCH: Edmonton Oilers allow two goals in 24 seconds in loss to Dallas Stars

The trade deadline came and went and Ken Holland didn’t do anything to upgrade the Edmonton Oilers’ goaltending situation.
The Oilers boast the lowest combined save percentage of any team currently holding a spot in the NHL playoffs at .899, but Holland said that he’s comfortable with the team’s tandem of Mike Smith and Mikko Koskinen when they’re healthy.
"I think when both goalies are healthy, I'm comfortable with our goaltending." -Holland
Keeping the puck out of the net was again a problem for the Oilers on Tuesday night, as the team snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by allowing two goals in 24 seconds in the third period to the Dallas Stars.
Edmonton scored twice early in the third period to give themselves a 3-2 lead in Dallas but they were unable to close the door. Roope Hintz and Denis Gurianov gave the Stars a 4-3 lead and Tyler Seguin scored into the empty net to seal the deal.
two awful reads from darnell nurse and the stars take a 4-3 lead with two goals in 24 seconds.
While it’s easy to pin the loss on goaltending, the Oilers as a team did a miserable job defending late in the game against a team that’s below average offensively. Darnell Nurse, who has a $9.25-million annual extension kicking in next season, made a pair of questionable reads that directly led to Dallas’ two quick goals.
The Oilers have now lost back-to-back games since the trade deadline, as they got dropped in overtime by the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night. The team owns a 35-24-5 record, good for third in the Pacific Division.
