The Edmonton Oilers announced Friday that goaltender Devon Levi has been placed on injured reserve.

The team also announced they have recalled goaltender Matt Tomkins from their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors, under emergency conditions.

Levi missed practice with the team on Friday, and according to Oilers Now reporter Bob Stauffer, Tristan Jarry will get the start Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Through seven games, Levi posted a 6-1-0 record with an .887 save percentage (SV%) and 3.11 goals against average (GAA). In 46 career NHL games, the native of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Que., is 23-18-2 with an .893 SV% and 3.26 GAA with the Oilers and Buffalo Sabres.

Levi, a seventh-round pick for the Florida Panthers in 2020, has appeared in 120 regular-season AHL games with the Rochester Americans across three seasons. He’s posted a 64-39-22 record with a .914 SV% and 2.52 GAA.

He also played three seasons of college hockey with Northeastern University. In 66 career NCAA games, he went 38-22-6 with a .942 SV% and 1.90 GAA.

As for Tomkins, the 32-year-old netminder has appeared in eight AHL seasons, where he’s posted a 59-57-19 record with a .903 SV% and 2.89 GAA. He’s also appeared in six career NHL games.

The Oilers are 8-1-1 through their first 10 games of the 2026-27 regular season. They defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 6-5 in a shootout Thursday, thanks to a pair of five-point performances from captain Connor McDavid and forward Leon Draisaitl.

They will host the Leafs Saturday. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. MT.
