Raanta has been mostly consistent when called upon for the Carolina Hurricanes this season, posting a 7-3-1 record with a 2.44 GAA, .909 SV%, and one shutout. He last played on February 20th, when he saved 31 of 34 shots in a 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Hurricanes are -214 road favourites against a Detroit Red Wings team that has lost three of their last four (1-3-0) and were unsuccessful in their only other meeting with the Hurricanes, a 5-3 loss in December. The Red Wings have scored three or more goals in six of their last seven games but will be hard-pressed to find offence against a Hurricanes team that has only allowed 122 goals this season, the fewest in the league. The Hurricanes sit atop the Eastern Conference with 78 points (37-11-4) and have won their last five games.
