Fantasy Hockey: Daily Goalie Rankings – 03/09/23

Welcome to our Goalie Rankings brought to you by NHL Lines site Betway!

Trying to decide which goalies to start is a dilemma that Fantasy Hockey owners face daily.

We here at DailyFaceoff try to make being a Fantasy Owner as easy as possible. Each day, we will rank the day’s starting goalies based on their Projected Win%, Goals Against Average, and SV%. Win percentage and expected goals against are generated from Sportsbooks Odds and Implied Totals.

In addition to the Starting Goalies Rankings table, we will have a write-up about the best streaming options for that day (if any).

Keep an eye on our Starting Goalies page to ensure the goals listed below are CONFIRMED to start.

Streaming Targets 🎯

Pyotr Kochetkov (CAR vs. PHI) – 21% Rostered

Goalie spot-starts don’t get more obvious than this. Kochetkov returns to the NHL because Antti Raanta is dealing with an injury, and he remains available in 79 percent of leagues. He draws an outstanding matchup vs. a Flyers team that has lost nine of their last 11 games while averaging just 2.1 goals per game. To make things even better for Kochetkov, the Flyers will turn to their backup goalie, Felix Sandstrom, who is 1-8-1 with a 3.52 GAA and .880 SV% this season. For comparison, Kochetkov is 10-4-5 with a 2.33 GAA and .913 SV%. The sportsbooks love Kochetkov and the Hurricanes this evening, giving him the highest implied win% (79.3%) and lowest implied goals against (2.2) on the slate.

Akira Schmid (NJD @ WSH) – 10% Rostered

If you weren’t quick enough adding Kochetkov, Schmid grades out as the second-best streaming target on Thursday. Schmid had an outstanding start to the season, going 5-0-0 with a .949 SV% in his first five outings, but has one just once (1-4-1) with a .908 SV% in seven appearances (six starts) since. With Vitek Vanecek struggling mightily as of late, Schmid will get a chance to face a Capitals team that has dropped eight of their last 11 games but have averaged 3.0 goals per game during that time.
