Mike Smith (EDM) – vs. BUF (35% Owned)
Smith will make his first start since March 5th after being sidelined with an illness and more recently taking a backseat to the more consistent Mikko Koskinen. Smith has been inconsistent all season and has recorded quality starts in consecutive outings only twice in 15 games. Working in Smith’s favour tonight, he will be facing a Buffalo Sabres team that has lost four of their last twelve games (4-8-0) and averaged only 2.58 goals scored in that span.
The Edmonton Oilers are huge -260 home favourites tonight. A poor performance from Smith would almost ensure that the team goes back to Koskinen on Saturday and potentially persuade them further into adding a goaltending reinforcement before the upcoming trade deadline.
